About us
We build Polpo as a family. We’re all learning languages, and Lena teaches them as well. Our goal is simple: to make an app we’d use ourselves. We’ll be glad if you find it useful too.

There’s plenty for all four of us to do. Pasha puts the app together, Lena shows her students what’s new and listens for what confuses them, Rada fills the reef with new creatures, and Vlada tries everything before anyone else. We practise with Polpo ourselves, so we’re the first to trip over every awkward button.
We have no office, no investors and no sales team. Polpo is free and has no ads, and we’re not trying to keep you hooked: all we want is for it to help you.
Lena
I’ve been teaching English and Italian for 8 years. I speak both at C1 level. I hold international TEFL, TESOL and CELTA certificates for teaching English, plus PLIDA in Italian.

Pasha
I’ve been in design for 15 years: I went from freelancer to product designer and worked on projects for Wargaming, PandaDoc, Orange Label, Reviderm, JoinBrands and Million Dollar Sellers. And now I’ve finally got around to a project of my own: in Polpo, I’m trying out all sorts of interesting stuff I never used to have time for.

Rada
I’m going to be an astrophysicist, but for now I draw. I come up with reef creatures for Polpo: I sketch them square by square in my notebook and then click them into the app.

I do gymnastics and run my own TikTok. And I’m Polpo’s first tester: I pretend I’m learning words, but really I’m checking that everything works.
